Next week, on Oct. 31, NASA's Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program, Goddard's Exploration and Space Communications (ESC) projects division and the Goddard Visitor Center will debut a new exhibit highlighting NASA's storied legacy and continued innovation in space communications.
Four visually dynamic panels make up the display, each showcasing different aspects of space communications technology. The exhibit specifically highlights optical communications technologies, which will use lasers to offer missions improved data rates as well as reduced size, weight and power requirements.
If you'd like to see the display, stop by the Visitor Center and check it out! The Visitor Center is open from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on weekends.
Additionally, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon on October 31. All are welcome, including children, who are encouraged to wear space-themed costumes!
