On 22 January 2019 at 1753 UTC (1253 EST) an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) was detected at 60 54.4N 150 11.0W, 16 miles south of Anchorage, AK. It was automatically activated when a single-engine propeller aircraft, with 1 person on board, crashed in a remote area. The Alaska Rescue Coordination Center received the alert and launched an Alaska Air National Guard rescue helicopter to the scene. The aircrew located the injured pilot and transported him to a hospital in Anchorage for treatment.
